Top Ten Tuesday - Feeling Thankful

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week's topic is...

Feeling Thankful!

Happy Tuesday! With Thanksgiving approaching, families will gather and reflect on things they are grateful for. It has been a year of ups and downs, but I still have a mix of bookish and non-bookish things to give thanks for.

  1. With my father's health issues, every additional day is something to be grateful for. I know I am very fortunate to still have my parents around and to have had three of my grandparents into adulthood.
  2. I am grateful that my daughter still makes time to come see us, and that she likes to cook because we would not have the fantastic meal that we will be eating on Thursday without her.
  3. Cute animal videos have been a source of sunshine for me. I don't tend to get too twisted about them being AI as long as they make me laugh and smile.
  4. I am going to say it - my heated blanket. It keeps me cozy. It's keeping me cozy right this very minute.
  5. The recent rain was very welcomed by me. The pigeons have been ruthless in the parking deck, and that storm saved me $15.
  1. I am so thankful for all the fun and feel-good books I have read this year. They really helped me through my funks.
  2. I know I get sad when I am rejected for ARCs, but I am happy that I can still get approvals given how book blogs are not as popular as they used to be.
  3. I am glad to have this outlet to share my love of books.
  4. My library is a source of so much of my reading material. I say this all the time, but I would not be able to afford my reading habit without it.
  5. I am thankful for all the book bloggers who still visit. The list is dwindling, but I am happy for each one of you who visit.

What are you thankful for?

  2. 1) I still have both my parents (though my grandparents died young, at least three of them), so I can relate.
    2) "I am grateful that my daughter still makes time to come see us, and that she likes to cook because we would not have the fantastic meal that we will be eating on Thursday without her."
    😆
    3) AI videos, alas, I have to strongly disagree. I don't care how cute they are - I want to feel real emotions for real puppies...
    5) "The recent rain was very welcomed by me. The pigeons have been ruthless in the parking deck, and that storm saved me $15."
    😂
    7) Same. I get far less ARCs than you do, but I'm grateful for each one of them, and anyway...I wouldn't have the time to read a plethora of books AND review them LOL.
    10) I can absolutely relate. I may have few visitors, but they always make my day, and the sense of community is strong.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. AI is such a touchy subject. I am not great at telling the difference but it's my daughter's mission.

  3. Amidst all the chaos in this world, there are still many things to be thankful for and this is a wonderful list, Sam! I am also incredibly thankful for the people who still visit my blog (however few that may be) and I'm thankful that this outlet still exists. Even if book blogging goes completely out of "fashion" I think I'd still do it because it's a wonderful place to be! Great post :)

    1. I was never in fashion, so I will go down kicking and screaming with my book blog.

  4. We've gotten a lot of rain lately here in the Arizona desert, which is such a nice, welcome change! And, yes, it has helped clean our pool deck, where the birds LOVE to poop, LOL.

Happy TTT (on a Wednesday) and Happy Thanksgiving!

    1. That must be a change of pace out there. I remember it snowing when I visited Sonoma and they were so excited. They explained how important the snow on the mountain is for them. Must be a similar thrill with the rain.

  5. These are all wonderful things to be grateful for, Sam. I'm happy that you cherish your time with your parents, enjoy them. I also am grateful for libraries, Netgalley, book bloggers, wonderful books and more. I hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving dinner with your daughter.

    2. I am the same way, Sam. I don't need a lot anymore except family and friends, so the little things mean more.
