Cover Loving - Illustrated Covers!
This is not really the TTT topic, but why would I want to read a book featuring a character like me? Scary! I scratched my head for a little while, and then I thought of all those cover features people do, where they pick a topic and feature covers they like, which fit said topic. That made me think of all the fabulous illustrated covers floating around, especially for one of my favorite genres - contemporary romance. (Then I giggled remembering Nick's tweet about it). But seriously, I am a cover-ho, and these forth-coming beauties have me drooling.
- The Bride Test by Helen Hoang
- Waiting for Tom Hanks by Kerry Winfrey
- The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman
- The Right Swipe by Alisha Rai
- The Wedding Party by Jasmine Guillory
- Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert
- Not the Girl You Marry by Andie J. Christopher
- The Marriage Clock by Zara Raheem
- Passion on Park Avenue by Lauren Layne
- Well Met by Jen DeLuca
Such nice covers!

They are a thing of beauty
DeleteGreat selection of covers. I love all of the vibrant colors! That one for Nina Hill is my favorite, I think just because of the way the Os are used for glasses, lol.
ReplyDeleteI have to put Nina Hill side by side with this MG book. I swear! It's like mother and daughter on the covers.
DeleteThey look so beautiful together! I have hearts in my eyes!
ReplyDeleteI know! They are fun and bright and I need to read them all. I am lucky to have all but one of them too.
DeleteI love how happy and bright they look!
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
They really are my esthetic - bright and fun and exactly what I look for in a contemporary romance.
DeleteHa! I love your reasoning for witching topics, Sam. :) I found this week’s theme rather impossible (and not one that really interested me) so I posted my April wrap up instead. I used to not be such a fan of illustrated covers. I found them to often be too cutesy for me. But there have been so many amazing ones in the last couple years that I’ve totally come around. The Bride Test is super cute and I really love What If It’s Us by Albertalli/Silvera.
ReplyDeleteCutesy is my brand, so you know I love these covers.
DeleteI do love a good illustrated cover. They can be fun! I'm so excited for Waiting for Tom Hanks and The Bookish Life of Nina Hill.

I loved Winfrey's YA and am hoping she delights me with her adult book. I liked Waxman's last book too, and was willing to try more of her women's fiction
DeleteThese illustrated covers are so lovely! There's something undeniably lively about all of them. Great picks!
ReplyDeleteThey give off the vibe I am looking for in contemporary romance
DeleteI also love these cute little illustrated covers and you have several up there that I am looking forward to reading soon!
ReplyDeleteSo far I have read and LOVED TBT. Totally lived up to the fun vibe of the cover.
DeleteSo many cute choices. Waiting for Tom Hanks has the most eye-catching color choices.
ReplyDeleteI love everything about that cover. I hope the book is as fun as that illustration
DeleteGreat covers!!
ReplyDeleteRight? I am seeing this trend in YA too and I am all over it.
DeleteI love the Passion on Park Avenue cover in particular here! :P
ReplyDeleteSo different for Layne! But I love it, and am excited to dive into the new series.
DeleteI love all of these, especially Passion on Park Avenue, it's so sassy!
ReplyDeleteI love the whole feel of the cover and it's a big change for Layne too, but if it fits the new series, I will be delighted.
DeleteI love them all and want to read them all!
ReplyDeleteI only need to get one of them, otherwise, I am reading them all.
DeleteI love a good illustrated cover, and cute images and pastel colors often get my attention, even if it's a book I don't normally read or outside my genres. Like all those Jenny Colgan books I always see- cafes by the seaside and whatnot lol. The covers grab me, what can I say? :)
ReplyDeleteSeriously though these ar great covers. I like Well Met.
I just went to GR to look at Colgan's covers, and they are cute. I like cutouts/silhouettes too.
DeleteYou always share covers that are so bright and colorful, I love it! These are pretty, and illustrated covers are great in general.
ReplyDeleteThey vibe with the type of books I like - light and fun (usually). As far as contemporary romance goes, it's a nice change from all the naked torsos. HA!
DeleteBeautiful covers. Cover designers have such an important job.
ReplyDeleteI like when the artists capture the essence of the book and don't just do generic covers, but try to tie it to the story.
DeleteThese cover designs are gorgeous. They are all so bright and colourful and cute!!!! I can't even pick a favourite. *.*
ReplyDeleteHappy readings, Sam!
Tânia @MyLovelySecret
Cute is what will get me every time.
DeleteI love all of these covers as well! I do think cartoon covers are starting to become over used, but at least they're cute!
ReplyDeleteI am romance reader, so as much as I love the male torso, it's a nice change of pace.
DeleteOmigosh, these are all so cute! I'm totally vibing the illustrated covers that are kind of taking over the recent surge of romances. Wonderful picks, Sam! :)
ReplyDeleteI think I am all about the illustrated cover, because they are fun and cute and that's my brand
DeleteWow I love ALL of these, how can I even pick a favorite?! Illustrated romance covers are my absolute FAVORITE new trend! So much better than the hokey models- it's what these books deserve!
ReplyDeleteOkay I settled on a favorite, though it was a close call: The Marriage Clock! (Also I realize you didn't ASK me to pick a favorite but here we are 😂)
I love knowing your favorite, and that one is really awesome. The color combination is fabulous and the cover is representative of the story, which I always like to see. What, you are not a fan of the naked-torso romance covers? XD
DeleteGreat cover picks Sam! That type of cover with the artistic illustrated characters seems to be a publishing trend! I really like the covers for The Bride Test and Passion on Park Avenue!

I like that TBT is along the same lines as TKQ. I want books in a series to have somewhat similar covers, and I am all about the change with Layne's cover. It's really different for her.
DeleteGreat way to do something different for TTT. I am loving some of these covers, The Bride Test is lovely and I knew I wanted to read Not The Girl You Marry as soon as I saw that cover. It's just so pretty and it looks like it's a really good book.
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm a cover-ho, so coming up with a list of covers is fun for me. Right? Not the Girl sucked me in with the cover too. I like light and fun romances, and these covers make me think the books could deliver that.
DeleteSuch pretty covers Sam! This is such a great choice for a TTT
ReplyDeleteIt was fun to do. If there were more days in the week, I would do a cover feature on a regular basis, because I enjoy seeing them and doing them.
DeleteThe genres I read don't often have many illustrated covers but I wouldn't mind one way or the other if I had more of them.
ReplyDeleteI am trying to think if I have ever seen any for horror or post apocalyptic. Can't think of any off the top of my head, but it's probably because cartoonishly drawn covers wouldn't be appropriate for those genres.
DeleteI love this list! Waiting for Tom Hanks may have one of my favorite covers so far this year.
ReplyDeleteLindsi @ Do You Dog-ear? 💬
Same. The Tom Hanks cover screams fun to me, and I am all about the fun.
DeletePretty covers! I'm loving the bright, quirky, digital types of covers appearing more and more now... I appreciate hot men covers too but... Tired of them?
ReplyDeleteThe thing I love about the naked torso/hot men covers is that I know I am definitely picking up a contemporary romance. 😂 But, I agree, this is a nice change of pace.
DeleteI just purchase Helen's new on. I can't wait to read it but I am thinking I might get the audio book instead as I read the first one that way. I haven't decided!
ReplyDeleteMary
I had listened to the TKQ, but read TBT. Her stories are enjoyable either way, and I thought the narrator for TKQ did a great job, so if they went with her again, it should be good.
Deletenew one**
ReplyDeleteI am a huge cover lover because I really enjoy beautiful covers! I especially like the covers of The Bookish Life of Nina Hill and The Bride Test from the collection you've got going up there ^.^
ReplyDeleteI have to put the Nina Hill cover with this middle grades book - it's like mother and daughter.
