That Reminds Me!
To be perfectly honest, this week was a freebie, and I had recently been singing more and more every time I see certain book titles. In case you are confused, a while back, I did a TTT where I shared book titles that reminded me of songs. It was really fun to do, and I was thinking about it again, because I encountered a reading challenge built around this entire idea (I cannot remember where I saw it, but if you know of it, let me know in the comments). These are culled from this year's read list, but I am already making a new list from my TBR. Enjoy!
Oh I absolutely love this post! A lot of times a song will pop up in my head, while I'm reading a book, because it reminds of the story. But I never even thought about the title matching a song! Such a fun TTT and now I'm going to have Listen to Your Heart in my head for the rest of the night lol. I completely forgot about that song!

My co-worker is always connecting songs to something we say or hear, and I guess it has really bled into my life, because I do it all the time with book titles. I have planted Roxette in your head. My job is done here. *evil laughter*
DeleteOh this is awesome. What a great idea! I love mixing books and music. Love Roxette by the way. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd now you will be singing Roxette all day, even if it's been 25 years since you heard that song. *laughing* Glad you enjoyed it.
DeleteThis is a fun one, Sam! Royals always. always makes me think of The Coldest Girl in Coldtown by Holly Black. The song was popular when I was reading it and it seemed to capture the parties at the big mansion perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI love Lorde, and I was jamming to that all weekend after doing this post
DeleteEvery time I see the cover of Wolf by Wolf it starts me off on Whitney Houston's Step by Step! It really gets on my nerves after a few hours!
ReplyDeleteIt's always hard to shake those earwigs.
DeleteOMG, I love that Roxette song! Now I'm going to have that in my head all day!
ReplyDeleteIt's always those songs I haven't heard in forever that get jammed in my head!
DeleteHaha, this is a creative post. I haven’t read any of these books, but I’ve heard most of the songs. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that reminded me of a song. I’m not a huge music enthusiast, so that’s probably not surprising. I use music as background noise while I’m working, but I don’t pay much attention to it.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
With my daughter gone, I don't go to any shows anymore, which I miss a lot. I always loved music and live music. Though, I listen to audiobooks when I work and like quiet when I read.
DeleteOh this is fun!! You did a great job coming up with this list. I would never be able to think of pairings like this.
ReplyDeleteThere are so many books with titles that are in songs. It makes me nuts that my mind does this!
DeleteSam you do rock today! LOL Sophie @bewareofthereader
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteVery fun! Patrick Ness's "More Than This" always gets me humming Roxy Music's song with the same title.
ReplyDeleteI probably haven't heard that song in eons, and now I am singing it.
DeleteLove this post so much. I wonder how many of these titles were actually inspired by the songs and how many are just coincidences. The Way You Make Me Feel is now playing in my head right now, haha.
ReplyDeleteThere are series that I know are all based on song titles, like Ann Aguirre's 2B Trilogy.
DeleteLove the post. I sometimes include music videos with my reviews, but I haven't thought of looking for the exact title. Have to give it a try.
ReplyDeletesherry @ fundinmental
I like to mix in video's if they had a special place in the story, or if they infect my brain as I read the book.
DeleteThis is cut a fun post idea! I sometimes see the song-book title connection as well. There are a lot here that didn't even register until I saw your post. I will be singing Royals all day now. :)
ReplyDeleteI cannot even remember the last time I listened to Royals, but I sang it this past weekend, over and over again. Such a good song
DeleteFun idea for this one Sam. And so many similar book/song titles!
ReplyDeleteKaren @ For What It's Worth
I got a ton of them. Like today is Wed, and Waiting on Wednesday is big on this day, and I will sing Lisa Loeb's Waiting For Wed all day, but replace For with On.
DeleteOh nice! I would suck at this topic because none of the books I read are reminiscent of songs! Lol.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Tuesday Post
Have a GREAT day!
Old Follower :)
Then you are lucky to have never fallen victim to this phenomena
DeleteTotally fun post. Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteLove this topic! I haven't listened to America's Suitehearts in ages!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog earlier. :)
My daughter made our road trip mix when we drove to Chicago this summer, and it was all emo - lot's of FOB.
DeleteI LOVE this topic choice! Sometimes when I see a title that is also a song title, it will be stuck in my head for DAYS, and Listen To Your Heart is already there so... crap hahah.
ReplyDeleteRoxette for the win! This seems to be the one creeping into everyone's subconscious today.
DeleteThis is such a cool post. I love the variety of songs. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's fun to do.
DeleteThis is so cool. I love it! So many great songs are now playing in my head!
ReplyDeleteThen my job is done.
DeleteCreative post idea. Some of the titles did remind me of songs, even before you mentioned them. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI have tons where these came from.
DeleteI love this topic! I've never associated book titles with songs of the same name before! I guess I'll probably start to make these connections from now on. I adore Fix You By Coldplay, but I've never read that particular book :)
ReplyDeleteIt was fun, because I haven't actually heard a lot of these songs sung by anyone but myself in such a long time, and Fix You always makes me tear up a little. Beautiful song.
DeleteWhat a creative spin on this week's Top Ten Tuesday post! Great job. You paired all of these books and songs together perfectly.
ReplyDeleteHere is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thanks for stopping by earlier.
Thanks! It was a lot of fun to do
DeleteGreat post. No I have not thought of the book that was giving me an earworm. I'm sure once I try to stop thinking of it, I will..

When you think of it, write it down, and then remember to tell me.
DeleteOmg, I LOVE this idea! So many of these songs are such bops that I forgot about!
ReplyDeleteI am always good for some throwbacks.
DeleteHow much fun is this! A few years ago I read Somebody I Used to Know by David Bell and had to sing the very similar song to myself every time I picked up the book.
ReplyDeleteI never read that book, but great song! You can only guess what happens, when I go to peruse the catalogs on Edelweiss.
DeleteI love the song The Way You Make Me Feel! And YES Royals the book always reminds me of that song. I totally want to read that one and it was so disappointing because I was sent an earc and I couldn't open it but the publishers never replied :( Oh, and I love the song Fix You too x
ReplyDeleteThat is a bummer about Royals. I loved it, and am really excited to read the next one.
